What are the requirements for raw materials for cold heading machines?

Cold heading machineIt is mainly used to manufacture parts, such as bolts, nuts, nails, rivets and steel balls. Forging materials include copper, aluminum, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and titanium alloys. The material utilization rate can reach 80-90%. Cold heading is mainly carried out by special cold heading machines, which facilitates continuous multi-station automatic production.

What are the requirements for raw materials for cold heading machines:

1. The raw materials require spherical annealing treatment, and the metallographic structure of the material is spherical pearlite level 4-6.

2. The surface quality of cold-drawn materials requires that the lubricating film is dull and must not have defects such as scratches, creases, cracks, brushes, rust, oxide scales and surface dents.

3. The chemical composition and mechanical properties of the raw materials of the cold pier machine must comply with the relevant standards of multi-station automatic cold heading machine.

4. The total thickness of the radial decarbonized layer of cold-drawn material should not exceed 1-1.5% of the diameter of the raw material (the specific situation depends on the requirements of each manufacturer).

5. In order to ensure the cutting quality during cold forming, the cold-drawn material must have a hard surface and a soft core.

6. Cold-drawn materials require cold top forging tests. In addition, in Manjushri cold presses, it is necessary to make the material sensitive to cold work and cure as low as possible to reduce deformation resistance caused by cold work and hardening during deformation.

7. It is also necessary to improve plasticity by making the hardness of the cold-drawn material as low as possible, so as to minimize the breaking trend of the material and extend the life of the mold, thereby improving plasticity. Generally, the hardness of the raw material should be HB110-170 (HRB62-88).

8. The final accuracy of cold-drawn materials should usually be determined based on the specific requirements of the product and process conditions. Generally, multi-station cold heading machines have low requirements for shrinkage diameter and forced dimensional accuracy.
