Cold heading machines are special equipment mainly used for mass production of fasteners such as nuts and bolts.

The world's earliest cold heading machine originated from Germany. The purpose of developing cold heading machines was mainly to create large quantities of bullet shells during World War II.

Cold heading process

(1) According to the metal plastic deformation theory, apply a certain pressure to the metal blank at room temperature to cause plastic deformation in the mold cavity and form according to the specified shape and size.

(2) It is necessary to select high-quality "plastic transformation" metal materials, such as riveted screw steel, with strict standards for their chemical composition and mechanical properties.

(3) Cold heading bolts and nut forming machinery have multiple models and multiple series of machine types. The equipment performance is reliable, the efficiency is high, and the product quality is stable.

(4) The product forming and forging force is large, the configuration power is high, and the equipment is invested at one time. Therefore, the production specifications below M24 are the most economical.

(5) Have good surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Due to the cold hardening during the upsetting process, the deformation should not be too large to reduce cracking.

(6) The cold heading process is applicable to products of large batches and various specifications, so as to reduce costs.

Modern cold heading machines have been added from the past simple 2 stations to multiple stations. The newer domestic varieties include 5-mode 6-mode 6-mode lengthened cold heading machines.

Safety operating procedures of cold heading machines

1. It is prohibited to wear gloves to operate the cold heading machine.

2. Before driving, you must carefully check whether the fasteners of the equipment are locked and whether the safety protection devices are intact. You must check frequently during work to prevent loosening due to violent vibrations and causing accidents.

3. After the equipment is adjusted, first turn the flywheel to check whether the working of each mechanism is normal. Only after removing the wrench rod for the puller can the motor be started. It is strictly forbidden to start the motor while pulling the truck.

4. All faults should be eliminated before starting the machine and a short time-lapse rotation can be performed before trial upsetting can be carried out.

5. When the equipment is running, the operator should stand in a safe position. It is strictly forbidden to pick up workpieces at the bumps. Only the product can be viewed at the lower end.

6. When replacing the product, you must carefully adjust the mold and punch, and carefully check whether each component is normal.

7. During the production process, if a failure occurs, the car must be stopped immediately, the cause must be found, and the hidden dangers must be eliminated. When the brake fails, driving is strictly prohibited.

8. The fuse plate (bumper) must be equipped with protective devices to avoid rupture and accidents. All protective devices must not be disassembled or lost at will.
