Mold requirements during cold heading machine processing

Cold heading machineIt is a special equipment mainly used for mass production of fasteners such as nuts and bolts.

Mold requirements during cold heading machine processing

During cold heading, the blank is subjected to three-way compressive stress in the mold, which significantly increases the deformation resistance, which makes the stress on the mold far greater than that of the general stamping die. When cold extrusion steel, the stress on the mold often reaches 2000MPa-2500MPa. For example, a low-carbon steel cup-shaped piece with a diameter of 38mm, a wall thickness of 5.6mm and a height of 100mm is made as an example. When cold heading is used, the maximum deformation force is only 17t, while when cold extrusion is used, the deformation force is 132t. At this time, the unit pressure acting on the cold extrusion mould reaches more than 2300MPa. In addition to having high strength, the mold also needs sufficient impact toughness and wear resistance.

Adjustment techniques for cold heading machines

1. Emergency stop and keep pressing the emergency stop button on the control cabinet operation panel, and the equipment stops running.

2. Reset and press the two reset switches on the counter operation panel to reset the preset number and processing number respectively.

3. Pull off the total power supply and the data on the counter remains unchanged. After the power is re-sending, the equipment then processes the parts until it reaches the preset number and stops.
